Set of Four Pine Chairs
by Børge Mogensen
A set of four solid pine chairs designed by Børge Mogensen circa 1955 and made by for Karl Andersson & Söner around the same date.
Although made of solid wood, metal and being upholstered in a charcoal melange wool the chairs' have a visual lightness and playfulness about them. This could be owed to the bold, straightforward and familiar shapes that make up the frames and the light colour of the wood used.
The wideness of the seat, carved back rests and the fact that the back rests move to adjust to the angle of the sitter makes the chairs surprisingly comfortable despite their solid wood construction. The pine used throughout now boasts a rich honey coloured patina. Available to buy as a set of four chairs or with the Børge Mogensen dining table also photographed and listed separately.
