Model 13-017 Wall Lights
Lisa Johansson-Pape
Finland, 1960s
Description:
A pair of Model 13-017 Wall Lights designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape and manufactured by Orno in Finland during the 1960s.
As one of Finland's leading lighting designers of the twentieth century, Johansson-Pape was a crucial figure in promoting Finnish design across the world and elevating Scandinavian Modernist principles more broadly. She proposed that a good lighting fixture must be simple. On this subject, Johansson-Pape wrote that 'its structure and function must be both neat and correct'.
A quintessentially modernist and industrially-inspired design, this pair of wall lights stand true to Johansson-Pape's meditations on good lighting design. Armatures on each light enables the head to be tilted forwards and backwards, making the lights perfect for task lighting, illuminating a favourite artwork, or simply as a striking statement piece on any wall.
Both lights have been rewired to UK standard.
