Articulated Arc Wall Lamps
Lisa Johansson-Pape, 1954

Description:

Three articulated arc wall lamps designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape for Stockmann-Orno, Finland, 1954.
The main body of the light is made of carved solid teak wood.
Ingeniously, each of the four pieces that constitute the arm slot together, without fixings, in a way that allows maximum manipulation.
The wall bracket is essentially a barrel hinge which allows the arm to move around a 180-degree angle from the wall.
Only the tip of the extending arm connects to the wall bracket by simply sitting within a notch. To lower or raise the arm the wooden ring that clamps the wire has to be released. Once the ring has been slid forward the wire can be pulled in or out of the bracket.
The distance that the shade drops from the end of the arm can also be dictated by adjusting the wire. Once the drop of the shade and angle of the arm have been decided the ring clamp then has to be slid into place to maintain the tension.
Each light is fitted with a newly made shade in an off-white textured cotton & linen fabric that nicely compliments the characterful teak.
Fully re-wired with an antique-brown fabric covered braided flex cord.

Price displayed is for one light.
