Green Mohair Velvet Four-Seat Sofa
Danish Master Cabinet Maker, C. 1945
A slender 1940s, possibly '50s, four-seater sofa exquisitely made by a Danish master cabinet maker, circa 1945.
The frame of the sofa is made from solid wood and features exposed legs in mahogany, which have a warm, rich finish, enhancing its organic appeal.
The overall shape of the sofa is geometric, with streamlined clean lines. However, gentle organic curves can also be found. Namely, in the arms, back legs, and sprung seat & back rest.
The upholstery of this sofa particularly highlights its allure. The sage green velvet fabric, chosen for its luxurious texture and graceful hue, imbues the piece with elegance. The velvet's softness adds to the comfort of the sprung seating, inviting anyone who encounters it to sink in and relax.
Although, extremely comfortable, spacious enough to seat four or someone laying, the sleekness of the design makes the sofa perfect for formal living rooms as well as cosy lounges.
