Coffee Table & Stool
Nanna Ditzel, 1960s
Originally thought of as children's furniture, the toadstool series was designed in 1962 by Nanna Ditzel to be stable and solid. The playful geometrical shape was designed so that it could be turned on its head and played around with. Starting with the smaller stool, it was designed so that it wouldn't break or tip over when children used it, then formally adapting the series to fulfil a range of purposes.
These pieces are in solid oak and finished in black varnish. Hand-made by a specialist cabinetmaker, these examples stand as testament to Ditzel's sensitive expression and her understanding of Danish craftspersonship traditions.
Price is for both the ND104 table and ND102 stool.
