ND105 Large 'Toadstool'
Designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1962 and made today by a small independent cabinetmaker in Denmark, the stool is expertly executed in solid oak that can be oiled, stained or varnished.
The first 'Toadstool' was created as furniture for Ditzel's children. The seat / table /step was designed to be stable and solid, so that it wouldn't break or tip over when children used it. The playful geometrical shape was designed so that it could be turned on its head and played around with.
This piece photographed is in solid oiled oak and was made to order by the cabinetmakers' at Snedkergaarden in Denmark. Every piece from the toadstool series (13 variations in total) is hand-made by a cabinetmaker and stands as a beautiful example of Ditzel's sensitive expression and her understanding of Danish cabinet making traditions.
Any number of Toadstools can be ordered for dispatch within 4 to 6 weeks.
