Patinated Corkscrew #4222M
by Carl Auböck
A stylised hand shaped corkscrew originally designed by Modernist Carl Auböck II, circa 1950, but made by Werkstätte Carl Auböck, ran by Mr Auböck IV, today.
The hand itself is a solid, sand-cast, brass object which, fittingly, is extremely tactile. Having undergone ‘patination’, the entirety of the hand is blackened but the golden brass will very slowly re-emerge from the beneath over many years of use. The embedded screw is made from high quality stainless steel in order to withstand the force of extracting corks. Sheathing the screw is a torched bamboo cover that gentle screws off and on.
Stamped with the Auböck signature.
