Patinated Corkscrew #4275M
by Carl Auböck

£240

Description

A stylised foot shaped corkscrew originally designed by Modernist Carl Auböck II, circa 1950, but made by Werkstätte Carl Auböck, ran by Mr Auböck IV, today.
The foot itself is a solid, sand-cast, brass object and is extremely tactile. Having undergone ‘patination’, the entirety of the foot is blackened but the golden brass will very slowly re-emerge from the beneath over many years of use. The imbedded screw is made from high quality stainless steel in order to withstand the force of extracting corks. Sheathing the screw is a torched bamboo cover that gentle screws off and on.
Stamped with the Auböck signature.
This piece is a custom new production piece and we have only one.
