Teak 'Rise & Fall' Chandelier
Germany, C. 1960

Description:

A five-arm rise ‘n’ fall chandelier in teak, most probably made in Germany, circa 1960.
The centre of the light, from which the five arms extend, is a solid piece of teak carved into a torpedo shape. Echoing this are the bulb holders and the light’s counterweight. However, all other elements of the piece also feature chunky symmetrical curves. Complimenting and completing the play with geometry within the light are the exposed large spherical bulbs in white opaline glass.
To adjust the height of the chandelier the light must simply be pulled lower or raised higher. The counterweight holds the light wherever the user desires.
Completely re-wired with a generous amount of fabric cover cord means the light is ready to be used in any interior. A spare set of bulbs will be supplied with the piece.
