Crocus Wall Tapestry
Green & Pink
Marta Måås Fjetterström

A vintage example of Marta Måås-Fjetterström's Crocus design. The tapestry woven textile was designed by MMF in 1930, and made by her workshop in Båstad, Sweden, around 1950.
The wall tapestry features geometric diamonds and rectangles as well as six stylized tulip flowers. The symmetrical arrangement of the angular shapes are beautifully contrasted by the warm and whimsical colors used. The ground of the piece is in a natural linen color, woven into this are hues of white, green, blue, red, yellow, brown and black.
The wool and linen are in excellent original condition. The naturally dyed fibers are still vibrant in color and retain a sheen from the organic oily fats in the wool.
Signed AB MMF denoting the piece was woven after Måås Fjetterström passed in 1941. In excellent condition.
