Tan Leather Jug #1
Carl Auböck II, 1950s
£650
Description
A mouth-blown glass jug with hand stitched leather sleeve handle, made and designed by Austrian designer Carl Auböck II.
This carefully constructed glass pitcher was made in the prestigious Vienna based workshop that has now been running for over 100 years. This 1950s jug shows how Auböck II, himself a student of the Bauhaus under the tutelage of Johannes Itten, was happy to venture outside the workshop's core brass casting to create stylised functional and sculptural objects.
