Röda slingan (Red Loop)
Knotted Rya Rug
A vintage example of Marta Måås-Fjetterström's Röda Slingan (Red Loop) design. The textile is a knotted rya rug (long pile) designed by MMF in 1928, and made by her workshop in Båstad, Sweden, around 1950.
Eighty three diamonds, of four different types and colour, are arranged above and below five zig zag stripes and along the perimeter of the rug. The background is blush red, while dark blue is the third colour completing the palette. Signed AB MMF denoting the piece was woven after Måås Fjetterström passed in 1941. In overall very good condition.
