Brass Wall Light with Flowers
Paavo Tynell

Description

A vintage mid-twentieth century wall light designed by Paavo Tynell for Taito Oy, Finland.

Made circa 1955 the wall lamp with three delicate-looking brass flowers is a great example of Tynell's design.

The juxtaposition of the materials used in the lamp and their colours creates a very sweet light. The natural veins, marbling and cream colours in the vellum shades and their caramel coloured twine stitching results in a warm looking light -when illuminated or not.

The bulb houses and switch are made of early plastic, disks of glass -frosted on the underside- suspend the vellum and twine shades. The light can be mains wired or fitted with a plug and cord.
