Day Bed Børge Mogensen

Description

A vintage day bed designed by Børge Mogensen and manufactured by Erhard Rasmussen, Denmark, circa 1955.
The frame of the bed, including the slats, is made entirely from solid oak. The chunks of oak which make up the two sleigh feet have a tight grain and have been oiled, the closeness of the grain and finish make the sleighs darker than the visible parameter of the bed. This adds subtle interest to what is otherwise a wonderfully simple design.
The mattress is newly upholstered in a radiant green coloured fabric, designed by Raf Simons for Kvadrat, and finished with tan leather buttons and pipping.
In excellent condition.
