“Eichhörnchen” (Squirrel) Lamp Julius Theodor Kalmar

Description

An original vintage 1950s Model 4375 wall/table light designed by Julius Theodor (J.T.) Kalmar and made by the Kalmar company. The nickname of the light is “Eichhörnchen” or “Squirrel” as the piece is designed to ‘jump’ from wall to table top freely. A thick tan-coloured leather loop atop the light allows the design to hang on the wall bracket and thanks to three wooden feet the lamp stands on a table. The slender brass arm of the wall bracket moves around a 180 degree horizontal angle -adding further to the adjustability of this light. All aspects of the wall bracket are completely original and only the wiring and fabric on the lamps body have been renewed. The three materials featured throughout are teak, brass and linen. In excellent condition.
