Huge Town Planners' Desk
with Map Drawer
Danish

Description:
An oak desk with map drawer from Frederiksberg Town Hall, Copenhagen, Denmark. Construction of the Art Nouveau / Skønvirke inspired city hall began in 1942 and was completed 1953. This oak desk was part of the interior of the City Planners' Office. Therefore, the large drawer, which runs the complete width of the table, was actually designed for maps/plans.

The desk stands on four solid oak legs which have been decoratively turned. The top is covered in the original dark green coloured rubber/urethane which compliments the rich colour of the wood and makes the table even more practical.
