Model 501 Desk Alvar Aalto

Description

A vintage model 501 desk in birch designed by Alvar Aalto in the 1930s, made by Artek of Finland.

The desk features a black lacquered top seven drawers and a pull-out work-surface.

The four deep drawers to the left each feature a shapely cut-out which allow access to the ergonomic finger grooves/pull-handles actually at the bottom of each drawer.

The drawers to the right of the knee-hole are also easily removable/adjustable trays -which gives great access to anything stored within. The three removable tray/drawers are stored behind a lockable tambour door.

Completely fished, in golden birch, on all sides the desk would work wonderfully in the middle of a room.
