Set of Eight Chairs Orla Høyer
Description
A unique set of oak dining chairs by Danish architect Orla Høyer and master cabinetmaker Herluf Sørensen. The chairs were designed and made for the home of the industrialist Johnny Mürsch who approached Høyer and Sørensen to execute the interior design of his villa in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, 1941.
The furniture conceived as part of this special commission is thought to display the clearest expression of Nordic Art Deco in Danish design history.
Each chair is in excellent condition and newly upholstered in radiant green coloured fabric designed by Raf Simons for Kvadrat. The lengths of solid oak that make up the frame remain as sharp as the lines in the design’s silhouette and boasts a rich honey coloured patina.
