Brutalist Pine Wall Light

Description:

A petite wall light designed by brothers Uno & Östen Kristiansson circa 1966 and made by Östen Kristiansson AB around the same date (formery Vittsjö Möbelfabrik and later known as Luxus).
The main body of the design is sculptured pine wood. Although the form of the lamp is curvaceous and the edges soft, the scale of the light and the proportions of the shapes used within relate to Brutalist architecture. The amount of wood used in the chunky light visually warms the design as the wood is not only apparent but attractively grained and patinated. Any shade can be fitted onto this piece.
