Yellow Pegamoid
Stools
Sweden, 1920s
Description:
Round stools with early, imitation leather seats. Made in Sweden during the early 20th century.
An elegant, turned column design with original upholstery. These stools date to the early 20th century, likely produced around 1920. Upon restoring them, layers of paint revealed decades of painting and repainting. The stools were carefully stripped back and given a new colour. We chose of one of our DAMO colours, a rich brown-toned burgundy, 'Dagger'.
The small metal tacks, as opposed to staples, beneath the egg-yolk yellow seat pads are also indicative of the age of these stools. These tacks have been used in the application of an early, leather-like material called "pegamoid", a waterproof fabric with many uses from book-binding to gun cartridge casings.
3 stools are available. If you would like to purchase the complete set, please add '3' to your cart.
