"Haresfur" Model 311 Table Lamp

Description:

The tapered Model 311 Lamp was designed by Esben Klint, son of Kaare Klint, for the Danish lighting company, Le Klint, in 1949. 

Originally, shortly after its design in 1949, the slender profile of the Model 311 was formed from mouth-blown glass, with renditions in cerulean and white-opaline colours. This rendition is from a little later, and was produced during the 1960s in collaboration with Palshus, a renowned manufacturer of Danish art ceramics.

Although completely smooth, the visual texture of the glazed lamp base is very distinct; cloudy, almost feather-like. This type of glaze was referred to as "Haresfur", translated in English to "Hare's fur", in reference to the soft, wispy glaze formations. A similarity which is only reinforced in this beautifully mottled, light brown rendition. 

The lamp is in good vintage condition and has been rewired with a UK standard plug and antique-style woven cord. The lamp also comes with a conical, vellum-effect shade.
