A solid teak table designed by Hans Wegner, in the late-1950s, and made by Master Cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen in the early-1960s. 

Made to order and produced in very limited numbers, this table is an exceptionally rare example, especially in such outstanding condition.

The design is both refined and effortlessly confident. A single uninterrupted board of solid Burmese teak forms the tabletop, its elegant proportions showcasing Wegner's mastery of material and form. Slender tapered legs, secured by sculptural white metal brackets, create a strikingly light appearance, while the projecting stretchers subtly recall East Asian architecture. The richly figured Burmese teak displays exceptional colour and grain throughout.

A version in untreated oak was exhibited by Johannes Hansen at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in 1960, where Wegner's room alone was said to "make the visit worth one's while."
