A Set of 4
Red & Black
Leather Dining Chairs, Ibisco
Italy, 1960s

£2,500

Description:

A set of 4 painted beech wood and leather chairs by Italian manufacturer, Ibisco. The set were likely produced between the mid-1960s and 1970s.

With glossed black frames and terracotta-red leather seats and backs, the design of this striking set of 4 dining chairs anticipates the playfulness and graphic expression that would later define post-modern furniture into the 1970s.

Whilst looking forward to the eclecticism of post-modernism, the design of these chairs simultaneously looks back, acknowledging the linear simplicity of Joseph Hoffman. This reference is particularly felt in the parallel lines of the chair's front cross rail.

The set are in good vintage condition, with traces of historic wear to the seats.
