Bent-Neck Brass Floor Light
Denmark, 1940s
Description:
A vintage bent-neck brass floor light designed and made in Denmark in the 1940s.
The circular base of the light features a delicate slope to give the foot visual weight. Above the main stem, which is fluted, is a collar from where the height adjustable pole comes.
The height of the light is manipulated by simply pulling or pushing the slender pole from/in to the fluted stem.
The lamp can be extended in height from 120 to 165 cm. In addition to being adjustable in height, after loosening the wingnut behind the bulb holder, the shade can also be manipulated. The light source can be pointed down, out or up making this a great directional light.
The brass has been left with its warm-coloured and even patina, built up over 80+ years.
Completely re-wired to UK standards and accompanied by a newly made shade in an off-white cotton & linen fabric that nicely compliments the characterful brass.
