Round Electric Blue
Stoneware Vase
Denmark, 1960s

Description:

A ceramic vase with a rounded, globular body and a speckled blue glaze, most likely made in Denmark during the 1960s.

The saturated cobalt blue of the body transitions subtly into a lighter turquoise around the neck. The delicate tonal variation and speckled effect was likely achieved through high-fire stoneware firing. The simplicity of the form showcases the complex glaze chemistry necessary to achieve these subtle effects.

The vase has a small chip to the top rim but otherwise is in good vintage condition. It is also stamped "OJ" underneath.
