Description
A vintage brass ashtray with a very tactile and visually satisfying geometric amoeba shape, made by the Auböck Werkstatte, Vienna circa 1950. Although very slender and delicately shaped the ash tray is also pleasingly weighty. The piece was once black patinated on the reverse and potentially within the bowl. However, after around seventy years of use and cleaning, this has now largely come away once again revealing the pure sand cast brass. In turn, the brass is now covered by a uniform patina naturally built over time.
Stamped with the Auböck signature to the underside.
