Per Linnemann-Schmidt for
Palshus, Denmark
1960s
Description:
A small, glazed vase designed by sculptor and ceramicist, Per Linnemann-Schmidt, for Palshus, Denmark, during the 1960s.
Chamotte refers to the type of clay used to craft this vessel. Chamotte clay incorporates calcined clay (clay that is heated and milled to a fine texture) to provide strength and reduce shrinkage in the kiln. This type of clay also have a distinctively rough-textured, almost sandy surface, which is most evident on the un-glazed underside
