Conical Brass Wall Light
England , Circa 1950

Description:

A vintage conical wall light in brass, most probably made in England circa 1950. The long and slender body of the buisine-shaped light (type of straight medieval trumpet) is connected to the circular wall bracket via a short stem. The joint behind the cone allows the shade to move upwards, whilst the way in which the stem is fasten to the wall bracket allows the light to be twisted in order to point, moderately, to the left or right.
Small holes at the narrowest end of the cone allow heat to escape and the interior of the shade is lacquered white.
Wear from many years of use is apparent, however, this does not detract from the overall charm of this unusual piece.
Newly re-wired with antique-brown coloured fabric covered braided flex. A black plug and inline switch mean the lamp is ready to use as is. However, the light could also be hard wired into the mains electricity.
