Fish Shaped Bottle Opener Carl Auböck

Description

A fish shaped bottle opener designed by Carl Auböck II, 1955.
Bottle tops can be removed using either the head or tail end of the fish. The tail end of the fish is used to remove tougher bottle tops which corresponds to the handle being wider when using the fish this way round. When using the mouth of the fish the shape of the body encourages the user to hold the bottle opener high up to achieve greater control. Resultantly the fish is comfortable and enjoyable to hold and use either way round.
The stainless-steel core of the opener runs the full length of the body is sandwiched between two natural pieces of horn and held together with four brass rivets.
A typical Auböck design, combining quality, functionality and elegance.
In great condition, stamped Stainless Austria.
