Large Rug #4 Märta Måås-Fjetterström

Description
Flat-woven rug designed by Måås-Fjetterström, Sweden, circa 1940 and made before 1942. The base of the composition is made up of 42 alternating bands of blue and green. These main colours are not block tones but made up of a plethora of strands of wool in hues of pinks, browns, yellows, purples, greys, creams as well as blues and greens.
Bordering the last bands on the rug and framing the fringes are stripes containing Z-shaped tetrominos in flecked pink, brown, yellow, purple and cream.
In excellent vintage condition.
