Large 'Sax' Wall Lamp #3
Erik Hansen for Le Klint, 1952
Description:
A wooden 'Sax' (scissor) wall lamp designed by Erik Hansen for Le Klint, Denmark, 1952.
Since the 1950’s the ‘Sax’ lamp has been produced as an uplighter and a down lighter in different types of wood. The new cable is antique-brown coloured fabric flex whilst the shade is a lightly textured white fabric.
The arm, as the name suggests, incorporates a scissor mechanism which allows the light source to extend from or contract towards the wall.
In addition to the reach of the lamp being adjustable, the arm can also be moved left or right. Lastly, the oblong shaped piece of wood which accommodates the bulb holder can be tilted.
The adaptability and elegance of the ‘Sax’ lamp makes it a brilliantly versatile piece. It works perfectly in many different interiors, both as a reading and ambient light.
