Reversible Coffee Table Ejvind A. Johansson
Description
A vintage 1950s teak and formica lounge table. The circular tabletop is reversible, inlaid with black formica on one side and teak on the other. The tapered frame is carved of solid teak. Designed by Ejvind. A. Johansson in 1955, and manufactured by Ludvig Pontoppidan, Denmark, shortly after this date. The black top contrasts the richness of the teak wood marvelously, however the formica is not just an aesthetic feature but an inspired practical consideration. The laminated top is extremely tough so flipping to this side gives you a coffee table you do not have to worry about at parties.
