Soft-Pink Sofa
Denmark, 1950s
Description:
A welcoming four-seater sofa, likely to have been made in Denmark during the late 1940s or early 1950s.
This long, yet deceptively slim, sofa has recently been reupholstered in soft, rose-coloured cotton. The muted, floral toned fabric has a natural slub that runs throughout. This light texture adds an understated, soft elegance to this formal sofa and makes it a piece that will invite everyday use for years to come.
Long enough to seat four, and deep enough for a single person to recline across its length, the design of this sofa makes it suited to the most formal of lounges or a more relaxed snug.
The straight back of the sofa gently curves around to the arms, a line echoed by the floating, solid wood frame below. This sofa may be positioned backing a wall or, taking advantage of its quietly sculptural back frame, it may also be used as a room divider, allowing all its angles to be enjoyed.
