A rare variation of an ‘Apila’ stool designed by Rauni Peippo for Stockmann department store, Helsinki, Finland, c.1960. The cabinet maker of the solid pine stool was the Kerava Carpentry Company.
The honesty and relative simplicity of the stools construction and the shapes within its form results in a design which is both refined and playful.
Each section of wood used within the stools makeup features a lively grain and boasts a rich and warm coloured patina.
