A large, oval wall mirror with rattan frame, likely made in Italy during the 1950s-1960s.
A versatile medium which was favoured during the Victorian era, rattan found renewed popularity during the 1950s. Favoured for its flexibility, rattan lent itself to exploring the playful shapes and forms synonymous with mid-century design. The frame of this oval wall mirror uses varied lengths of rattan to encircle the mirror in a sun-ray like design, a recurring motif used across late mid-century design.
The frame and mirror are in good vintage condition with minor age-related patination to the centre of the mirror.
